Harddisks Live Longer at 40 Degree Celcius
As in 2007, Google inspecting the data on about 100,000 harddisk from it’s data center. Surprisingly harddisk that operate at the temperature of 40 degree Celcius live longer rather that harddisks that are above 45 celcius or below 30 celcius.
The Smallest Harddisk
In january 2004, Toshiba introduced a 0.85 inch hard disk with a capacity of 4 gb. It is recarded in Guinness Book of World Record
Drastic Fall in Price
As for today, a 1GB harddisk is about 0.10 USD but in 1980, ST506 ( Seagate ) cost about 250 euros per MB
